Position Summary:

This is a remote position for 40 hours per week. Some weekend hours will be required based on trainings and events. Coordination of educational/training events, maintain and recruit membership, promote and market hardwood industry by having a NTHA booth at events. Represent NTHA in relation to industry organizations such as Hardwoods Development Council, the 2 other Hardwood Utilization Groups, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and Professional Forestry Industry Association.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote long-term economic development in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania through intelligent forest management, careful expansion of primary and secondary wood processing, improved manufacturing methods and regional hardwood promotion.

Relation to Mission

As a paid position amongst volunteers, the program manager is crucial to implementing programs and outreach that will help support the mission and fulfill our grant. As a non-profit, grant funded association, we must meet the requirements of our state grant.

1) Promotion of regional hardwood companies and products

2) Promote the industry’s access to regional timber resources

3) Public Education and Outreach in support of the state’s wood industry

4) Resource point for the region’s companies

5) Encourage development of secondary processing & expansion of existing operations 6) Support for local events

7) Reporting (e.g. Daily Log, Monthly report, Quarterly reports, Yearly Activity report) 8) All Other Duties As Assigned

NTHA provides: Mac book with necessary software, cell phone, and printer.

You need to have your own reliable transportation.

Salary: $40,040 per year with 5 days paid vacation. Eight paid holiday’s including: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Mileage and travel reimbursement per federal per diem guidelines. There will be a board review of job performance after a 90 day probationary period.
