Fleet Maintenance Manager - Lebanon, PA Currently, we are seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager with truck or heavy equipment, large fleet maintenance experience and repair knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems. Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe work area and must be versed in 5S methodologies. The preferred candidate will have a working knowledge of DOT and OSHA compliance requirements. Excellent communication skills along with parts purchasing negotiation experience are a plus. The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing a team of mechanics that perform maintenance applications on all rolling stock. The manager installs, inspects, adjusts and repairs equipment while following safety rules and regulations. They also conduct state inspections on vehicles and trailers that are to be driven off property - on roads and highways.
Your team will be required to maintain all equipment to mandatory standards. Equipment includes all forklifts both diesel and electric, semi-tractor and trailers, wheel loaders and other rolling stock on Weaber property. In addition to managing a team, you will occasionally work independently and be expected to retain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing these duties. Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities: Executes an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down time. Schedules needed repairs to have minimum interference. Plans and provides for an adequate supply and ensures control over spare parts and maintenance supplies. Coordinate with equipment vendors for special projects, maintenance scheduling, and activities.
Coordinate and schedule third party vendors for equipment installations and/or repair. Management of special and/or significant maintenance/refit projects. Ordering parts and supplies and maintaining adequate inventory, as well as controlling inventory. Conduct fleet and rolling stock evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met and are in compliance with all regulatory agencies including DOT and OSHA. Assist with training of maintenance and transportation personnel in the effective use of vehicles and rolling stock to prevent damage and identify deficiencies. Controls downtime by informing maintenance team of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Organizes maintenance staff to submit daily work reports. Communicates goals and objectives regularly, clearly, and effectively with all relevant maintenance team members. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems Cross trains team members in other maintenance areas of the facility.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Maintaining maintenance within budget parameters, including approving spending and invoices. Analysis of spending trends on supplies, parts, labor, etc. Researching and procuring parts for rolling stock. Analysis of production and Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports for maintenance trends and issues. Special Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Maintenance Software. Must have current Class A CDL. Must have current state inspection license (or the ability to obtain in first ninety days of employment).
