Description

Pennsylvania’s conservation districts were established in 1945 when the General Assembly passed the Soil Conservation District Act, Act 217 of the General Assembly commonly known as the Conservation District Law. The county conservation districts work to help people and communities take care of the natural resources in their area including soil, water, wildlife, trees and other plants.

The Dirt and Gravel / Low Volume Roads Project Specialist position will be full-time (37.5 hours/week) with a probationary period of six months. The purpose of this position is to provide for the successful implementation and administration of Potter County's Dirt and Gravel and Low Volume Road Programs by conserving soil and water resources.

Responsibilities:

• The position requires that the person possesses or is willing to acquire knowledge of the entire program.
• The position also requires knowledge of and the ability to use various computer software packages.
• In-house technical knowledge is necessary to evaluate sites for potential pollution and perform all elements of contract management for the program.
• The qualified applicant should have an Associate’s Degree/Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field or equivalent experience.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.
• The position involves extensive contact, both by phone and in person, with a variety of District customers and partners.
• The person in this position must have excellent communication skills, a pleasant disposition, be courteous, kind, and detail oriented.
• Tasks will be assigned and supervised by the District Manager per program needs.

Salary

$35,000 - $50,000
