Description

Seasonal Ground Tech./CDL Driver Job Description General Helicopter Applicators Inc., a Gettysburg PA based aerial application company, is seeking CDL truck drivers to work seasonally as Ground Technicians (GTs) in support of our helicopters for aerial spray operations. Job Description This position will require intermittent and sometimes extensive travel primarily throughout the east coast and occasionally further. When not traveling/working on site, GTs are required to report daily to our Gettysburg location to assist with general maintenance/post job-site tasks in HAI shop/hanger and preparations for upcoming jobs. All GTs will be assigned to particular off-site projects as they arise. GTs will travel and work with a 2 to 4-person crew to include the aircraft/pilot and other ground support personnel as needed. Due to the seasonal/weather dependent nature of the industry, travel is often required on short notice (1 to 2 days) and for up to 3 weeks at a time. GTs will drive our trucks from the Gettysburg, PA location to job sites and will be responsible for the safe operation of our trucks to off-road landing zones where the helicopter is able to land next to or on top of the truck. All operations are weather dependent and work hours when on a job site will vary significantly. A typical workday will start before daylight and weather permitting may continue until dark. Alternatively, wind or rain can shut down an operation for several days. Duration of a particular project therefore can vary as weather delays are common. For seasonal GT’s in 2020 the least number of nights on the road was 65, the most was 125, with an average of 95.
